February 18-20, 2018

International Camping Fellowship Pre-ACA US Conference Camp Tour

Sunday, 8:00 a.m. - Tuesday, Noon

This tour of Orlando-area youth programs and camps is open to everyone and will include, in addition to sightseeing, facilitated discussions of camp and youth programs in the US and around the world.  Special activities and meals are planned to represent local culture and foods.  Fee of $200 includes transportation, program fees, snacks, and four meals, but does not include hotel.  The tour will be based at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel at the Orlando Airport with transportation to the scheduled sites and return to the tour hotel each evening. On Feb. 20, participants will be transported to the conference hotel for the ACA Conference. The Wingate Hotel special group rates are approximately $132/night inc. taxes, double occupancy with breakfast, but must be scheduled by January 15. Contact Linda Pulliam, lgpulliam@gmail.comto reserve hotel rooms and for additional information. Itinerary will be posted in late fall.

If attending the ICF Kindred only — a $15 processing fee will be added to the registration cost.

 April 9 - 12, 2018 Australian Outdoor Education Conference

Hobart, Tasmania

“The 2018 biannual National Outdoor Education Conference will be hosted by Outdoor Education Tasmania from April 9-12 in Hobart, Tasmania.

The theme of the 2018 NOEC conference is “Wisdom of the Past – Exploring the Future.”

Delegates will be invited to examine and engage with historical foundations of long-held traditions of outdoor education, such as nature, risk, adventure, skill development and social and interpersonal development. More contemporary constructs of outdoor education will also be presented and interrogated, including local place-based education, environmental education, sustainability education and social justice.

We look forward to engaging with a variety of delegates representing the diverse outdoor education sector – teachers, academics, instructors, tourism guides, students, commercial operators, and government officials are invited to attend.

Tasmania has spectacular natural environment for interacting with nature and Hobart will offer both inner city venues and beautiful outdoor sites to run a diverse program. This conference will have a uniquely Tasmanian twist as we celebrate the proud history and tradition of teaching and learning in the Tasmanian outdoors…”

5th Interregional Meeting "Leaders' circle", Perm, Russia.

Three busy and interesting days before the summer from April, 28 till April, 30 will attract your attention.

On the 28th of April camp "New Generation" will once more greet initiative, inquisitive, creative and very responsible people – Camp Leaders. Counselors in the present and in the future. We are waiting for masters of camp leading, who are ready to share their experiences with others and to instruct "newcomers", who are waiting for their first summer with excitement.

"Leaders' circle" is a place where everyone will find something interesting and useful, will gain new friends. It is a place for communication, work, exchange of experience, for creation of new ideas. "Leaders' circle" is a place where summer begins.

First, this meeting is already reaching the international level – John Jorgenson, President of the International Camping Fellowship will visit us. He will perform master classes about game practice, tell about camps in other countries and explain what the ICF is.

Secondly, one of the biggest events will be the "Atlas of games’" creation. It will collect games from children's camps all over the world. During the game "Children of different countries speak the same language" all participants will play games from China, Turkey, Mexico and other countries. On the basis of this experience Atlas will be composed.

Thirdly, let’s remember that one of the foundations of children's camps and camp leading are traditions. So, traditional events of the meeting are waiting for you too. "Game carousel" - a program for the exchange of experience in the mode "right here and right now". Balcony of views-discussion of the most topical, "alive" contradictions and situations. Interactive action "Waking up by New Generation" – an activity to start your day with energy and good mood for everything and everyone. Creative evening "Perm invites friends" - without comments, when so many talented people gather, it is impossible to do without performances and concerts. It will be the evening of favorite songs – camp leader, campfire and guitar are almost inseparable from each other in our minds.

This is only a small part of the claimed events.

New Generation camp invites friends (campers and counselors) from different countries for a cultural exchange!

From June 24 to July 14, 2018 at children’s camp "New Generation" (Russia, Perm) a cultural exchange will take place: "Children of different continents speak one language".

What is our goal?

It is important for us that children from our camp discuss about common problems, hobbies, stories, the relations with parents, choice of profession, interests, music, sport, with children from different camps.

It is important to us that they feel that in this huge world all children from different countries and different continents can talk about their hobbies and interests, irrespective of skin color, gender, the country, or language. We will play games from different countries, we will sing, we will dance, and, above all we will build bridges of communication among children.

This cultural exchange has been taking place since three years now. Many participants from other countries come to us as volunteers and work with children. They teach a song, supervise sports, put together performances, or tell us about their country. In the previous year we had visitors from more than 12 countries: Germany, Canada, Egypt, China, India, Hong Kong, Thailand, Greece, Cuba, Turkey and others.

At the end of the exchange we have a big performance: "Children of Different Continents Speak One Language". It is the highlight of communication as we become very good friends.

We invite youth (campers and counselors) from other countries to this exchange as volunteers. You share emotions of your country with the children from Russia.

"New generation" is a large camp. In the summer during the cultural exchange we have 500 children. The cultural exchange lasts 21 days. We are situated on the river bank Kama in the Urals, on the border of Europe and Asia.

We will assume all expenses on a transfer from Moscow to Perm and back by plane of the company Aeroflot, and also we will provide free accommodation and food in the camp. The International Camp Directors Course (ICDC) has been developed as a professional development course for camp managers, directors and operators and other experienced outdoor professionals. The curriculum in Australia has been adapted to align with the local industry.


**International participants are welcome however, the course will be conducted in English and will not be interpreted.**
